Hi folks! I'm Brady. My fur baby, Kodak, is going through serious liver failure. Kodak has Wilson's Disease which causes copper build up in the liver leading to a whole host of issues. Right now the most serious issue he's facing is hepatic encephalopathy. I've been working with a specialist to treat him from home but it has taken constant supervision on my part. Today I had to admit him to my emergency vet for urgent life-saving treatment. I'm hoping to try and raise any money to help pay his medical bills. I'm not ready to say goodbye to him.

My previous partner and I adopted Kodak in 2019. He had a very rough life before us. He's obviously been abused and X-rays show he's even been shot. Because of this he has a lot of anxiety and doesn't like most men. But I'm very fortunate to say he and I are very close. In 2023 Kodak became ill and when we went to find answers we found out from a specialist that he had a copper storage issue. It took emergency treatment and constant care once he left the hospital to pull him through. Since then he has been on constant medications to manage his condition, though we've slowly weaned him off several of those drugs and until recently he was only on one drug that helps to manage copper uptake.

Now the issue has suddenly come back. We're not quite sure why it's back but it is likely a matter of changing his long term drug dosage to manage his copper uptake in the future. In the meantime they're placing a feeding tube in to both drain toxins from his stomach and feed him. I'm hopeful that he can make it through the next few days but it's going to be difficult. Based on what I've paid so far and what I've been quoted his medical bills will likely reach $5000 by March 3rd.

I know this is a lot to ask. And I know there are so many worthy causes in the world these days. But Kodak means the world to me and I want to do everything in my power to give him the best life possible. I owe him that.
