Koda James Smith Funeral Expenses

My name is Sarah Irish and my good friends Ashley Bryant and Quis Smith's 8 month old son Koda Smith sadly passed away and went to be with God ,this is from his mother Ashley ."My sweet Koda James, he is such a fighter. My heart is absolutely broken and shattered into a million pieces but he was too beautiful for this world. God stole him from me and I’ll never understand why. After surgery the doctors couldn’t get his blood pressure to stay up and his sweet little heart was too weak to handle it. We still don’t even know the cause of sickness or why everything escalated so quickly. I held my son’s hand as he passed from this world around 3:30 this morning. Please respect mine & my family’s space at this time as we really need some time to wrap our minds around this, handle arrangements, and grieve our beautiful boy"

Koda started in CHKD ICU . After being in the emergency department over a day with what they suspected was a stomach bug, only getting worse , Koda went into cardiac arrest. They performed CPR on him for 5 minutes. He had a breathing tube hooked up and there was all kinds of tubes and needles in him. He then had emergency bedside surgery to drain fluid that has caused his abdomen to swell excessively .The surgeon believes there may be some type of infection in his intestines.Koda James made it out of surgery safely without any complications. They found a piece of his colon that was dead and about a liter of fluid that had to be drained. His stomach looks a little icky too on the inside but they will be rechecking his stomach and his intensities in the morning. Still unsure about the cause of the infection.He will be here in the ICU for a few days at least so continued prayers will still be appreciated as it may be a long road of recovery.

Both Ashley and Quis are grieving immensely and are unsure what the future holds now . We are asking for help with bills while the mourn their son and also help with funeral arrangements . Anything helps . This little family is hurting and needs all the love they can get .
