Koda Badger's medical emergency fundraiser
Donation protected
Ladies and Gentlemen;
On March 3rd, 2023, 7-year-old Koda Badger went into the hospital for a sore mouth. Since this date, he has been diagnosed with Oral Cancer and has started Chemo and Radiation treatment. His dad Kiefer has been by his side during every moment and unfortunately hasn’t been able to work. We hope this GoFundMe page will help Kiefer, Koda, and their family through their difficult battle. All donations are greatly appreciated to help them keep up with their bills, medical costs, and comfort!
What started out as a small cut in his gums where Koda’s Molars would be turned into something bigger 4 days after. The cut turned white and a growth appeared in the gum line. At this point, they thought it turned abscess and brought him into the Hospital at the emergency outpatients. After a long wait Koda was given antibiotics and referred to an ENT Specialist. The ENT Specialist scheduled Koda in for a CT scan in 2 weeks. He was also placed on a waiting list in case of a cancellation. The oral growth was growing fast and getting bigger each day. 2 days later there was a cancellation and Kiefer rushed his son to the hospital for the CT scan. After the CT scan was complete, Koda started getting fevers and a biopsy was done. The results would be available in a week or later. On March 14th he was in too much pain, so another hospital visit was needed. He was given more antibiotics and admitted Koda for the night. The biopsy results came back, and Koda was referred to the ENT Specialist at the Edmonton Stollery Hospital. During the Edmonton Stollery Hospital visit, another CT scan and Biopsy was completed. On March 24th, Koda’s 7th birthday, the Stollery Hospital sent Koda back home to Grande Prairie until his next appointment on the 30th. Koda has been battling daily fevers still up to this point. On March 30th during Koda’s appointment in Edmonton, it was confirmed that Koda has Oral Cancer, and the Chemotherapy treatment would begin. On April 13th, the doctor had some more news for Koda and a cancer treatment plan was made. Koda’s treatment plan will include radiation and chemotherapy treatment plan to fight against the cancer for the next 7 weeks.
Any donations and prayers are greatly appreciated. I hope this will help relieve stress for Kiefer and family.
