Michelle started having a low grade fever off and on sometime in November.  At first we didn't think much of it, but it kept persisting.  She went to her primary PA who suspected she had an ear infection and prescribed an antibiotic.    In early December she noticed a small bump forming on her lower right abdomen.  We developed several theories as to what is was but as it continued to keep growing, we know we knew it needed to be examined.

After seeing a couple of doctors who had no idea what it was, we started a journey which included a trip to the emergency room so that we could get a Cat scan immediately instead of having to wait another week.  That trip then referred us to a surgical oncologist, but the appointment was not for three weeks.   We knew we had to speed the process up, and an amazing friend who is fighting her own battle connected us with the head of the oncology department at our largest hospital here.   We were in his office the very next day and had a 2nd Cat scan.   From this information, we were scheduled for surgery the following week.

When we met with the surgeon, he explained the process of surgery and told us he suspected this was a tumor called Liposarcoma.  He also indicated that he had some concerns that the tumor might be in some way connected to a kidney.  But told us we could get a 2nd opinion from a specialist at MD Anderson in Houston, Dr. Fieg, which we activated.  That specialist recommended that we do a biopsy to confirm if this was cancerous and to  consider if chemo could shrink the growth prior to removal and take the kidney out of the danger zone.

The biopsy confirmed that the growth is Liposarcoma.  It is being evaluated by a pathologist to determine the next course of treatment, which could be chemo followed by surgery in the next 6 months, or just surgery in the next couple of weeks.

Those of you who know us well know that we believe that it is Gods' will to heal His people.  We are standing on Psalm 23, Isaiah 53, and Galatians 3:13 for her complete healing and restoration.  We would ask that you simply agree with us in faith.  Jesus said we would have tribulations, but "be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."  We will win this fight and a great testimony will result.

Michelle is currently receiving treatment in Houston, TX at MD Anderson.

This fund will help with medical and family expenses while Michelle is unable to work and being treated out of state.
