59 Young Lives Lost - A Town in Mourning, A Nation in Grief

In the early hours of March 16th, tragedy struck the quiet town of Kočani. A devastating nightclub fire claimed 59 young lives—vibrant souls full of love, dreams, and promise. Another 196 remain hospitalized, receiving treatment both at home and abroad.

Kočani is where I spent my early childhood, surrounded by family, friendship, and a deep sense of community. The people of Kočani - and Macedonia - may not have great material wealth, but their spirit is immeasurable, expressed through music, dance, hospitality, and unity.

Now, many families face unimaginable loss. Some are raising children who lost their parents that night; others are burdened with medical bills and funeral costs, grieving while carrying financial strain.
