Koby's Vet Bills
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
So as most of my friends and family know Koby has been my entire world since my mom gifted him to me for my 16th birthday. He's the most obedient pup (unless he decides the neighbor's are cooking something that smells good), sweetest, gentlest soul who's been there with me for the last 10 years. He just got a clean bill of health about a month ago with the vet stating his condition was that of a lab many years younger than him. But last Friday while he was outside he took a fall on the couple stairs coming up to the porch where come to find out he damaged his spinal cord and paralyzed his back legs.. The vet says that he could have surgery and to make an appointment with the neurologist which would end up in about 10k worth of vet care and the outcome was unknown especially with his age. They have loaded me up with steroids, pain killers, and muscle relaxers to help him in the meantime to see if he will improve but states he should be euthanized if no improvements.
This being said with these medications on board he has not been crying out in pain from the trauma and has been eager to try to get up himself which he's extremely frustrated he is unable to do on his own (a lovely friend of mine has let me borrow her wheelchair she used for her since passed buddy). I've found some alternatives to the surgery that could help him to decrease the inflammation and pain and even might help get those signals from the brain back down to his legs but coming to find out it's not cheap. I am not one to ask for anything but if anything would help to maybe save my buddy I'm willing to try it without putting him through more pain. I would appreciate any help if able to go towards his medical bills as these expenses came very... unexpectedly. I absolutely despise asking but I guess in my head now it's for Koby and not for myself to see if I can save him.
Thank you all for reading and any support you might have for Koby.
