Hi, my name is Fred, and I'm fundraising to help afford the bills for Kobi, an Emotional Support Dog. He's an 8-year-old 3-times-rescued Husky mix with Malamute and has been suffering for the last 7 months with constant sneezing and 'reverse sneezing', coughing and runny nose. He has seen the vet several times during this period and been treated with antibiotics and steroids, which only had an effect for a month at a time. His condition has also affected his appetite and energy. The Pet Insurance won't insure him because he's an old dog, according to them, and rescued, with pre-existing medical conditions. Now he's reaching a stage where vets (through going several opinions) suggest that he needs a workup to investigate the cause of his condition. This involves an X-Ray, a CT scan under anaesthetic, followed by a Rhinoscopy or surgery to either extract a possible foreign body from his nasal passage or check if malignant polyps are growing in his nose. The addition of investigations, procedures and anaesthetics is forecast to be costly (between 3000€ and 5000€)
Due to unfortunate events, after being scammed for a job, I ended up being unemployed for several months, but luckily, I recently found a part-time job and am struggling in my own circumstances. I have always stood up for myself and those I care about, which has explained my varied work histories. Still, I now face a ban from the biggest employer in Ireland, which had a knock-on effect with temporary agencies and other private establishments. I keep fighting the good fight and currently retraining with some help from the welfare, to gain additional skills and market myself elsewhere.
Kobi has only reached half of his age and doesn't deserve to continue to suffer without being able to be cared for. I am generally resilient and self-reliant and never ask for any financial help from anyone, just emotional support or encouragement to help me explore other avenues, but I have reached a point where I need to ask for help to save the one who saved me, too. If this is God's will, and I hope it will, Kobi will be treated. I thank you in advance for your generous support or donation, either big or small.
