Kobe's College Tuition Fund

My name is Kobe Siara Goldman. My nickname is Jellybean. I am half Kenyan, half American. My mom's name is Nasimiyu. My education started at Montessori, then transferred to Neil Cummins until 4th grade, both schools in Corte Madera, Ca.  With the persistence and sacrifice by my mom, I was able to transfer in the 5th grade to Marin Horizon School in Mill Valley on a partial scholarship. I played soccer and was very good at it. My mom helped the school by teaching children about African art and culture. I was accepted into The Branson High School, again on a partial scholarship. It has only been with the help of friends that we could afford the expense of attending both of these prestigious schools. I played football at Branson my senior year and was even featured in the Marin Independent Journal as an exceptional football player. I was accepted and enrolled at Arizona State University in the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering.
I have initially chosen the Computer Science Department as my field,  This is one of the top Engineering schools in the country and I am so grateful that I have been accepted to this institution.
Over the years, even as an infant, my mom has taken me to Kenya many times. I have become fluent in Swahili and have many friends there as well as extended family. As I grew older I began to help my mom with her foundation focused on bettering the lives of AIDS orphans. I also volunteered in teaching high school in rural Kenya. During one of my stays in Kenya fo about 6 months I attended school there. These experiences have taught me the value of 'giving back' to the community and helping those less fortunate than myself. With this in my heart as a motivation, I intend to pursue not only 4 year Bachelors Degree but continue on towards Masters and PH.D degrees. This will enable me to be in a much better position to offer help where needed.
As an out of state resident the cost to attend Arizona State University is roughly $32,000 per year. This amount of money is beyond my mom's ability to pay. Over the past 20 years my mom Nasimiyu Wekesa, is also known as" NASIMIYU DESIGNS". She is known as Afrikan One of A kind Costume Jewelry Designer as well as Afrikana Fine Art also featured in famous magazines and New York, Florida, Paris, and Milan Weekly Fashion shows. She is also a supporter and donor for Women's Cancer celebrations called Step out to celebrate life and designed and sold one of a kind custom jewelry and fine  African art in order to support the family. I have been working here at Trader Joe's as many hours as I can, but it is a drop in the bucket. So it is with faith and humility in my heart that I am asking for financial help to realize my dream. Any donation you can make will be deeply appreciated, will make a difference and make one more smile a day.
   Thank you so much
