UPDATE:
Kobe update 12/2/23:
I know many of you are wondering and asking about Kobe..
Since Tuesday night when Kobe stopped breathing and had to be re-admitted.. things have continued to not go well..
Kobe has sepsis
His heart function is significantly declining.
And now His liver is being effecting and worsening with every test taken.
Kobe is still heavily sedated and intubated.
I miss him..
My heart is heavy today. It’s heavy for Kobe, it’s heavy for our friends, Jess and Jeremy as they process the loss of their sweet boy Griffin, it’s heavy for all the families around me.
I guess all I can continue to do right now is ask for your prayers. Prayers for peace, for comfort, for healing. Prayers for happier days ahead.
❤️
UPDATE: Early this morning, after a very successful surgery, Kobe stopped breathing. They did compressions on him for 16 minutes and were able to bring him back AGAIN. They opened him up and did an echo on top of his heart and everything still looks good. The only explanation that they have at this time is that he didn't have enough fluids. He is now back to stable, however, his heart rhythm isn't right. They will continue to do EEG's to monitor. Please keep Alyssa and Kenny in your prayers, they are a mess.
Hi,
My name is Vicki Salazar. Kobe Michael is my grandson. The Kiser family has been going through an incredibly scary time. Their baby boy was born with a heart problem. I am working to help create funds for him to have his heart surgery on March 20.
As most of our close friends and family know, Alyssa went in to be induced at 37 weeks, March 9. Her placenta was not providing proper nutrients to their baby boy. He was in the 1-2 percentile on the growth charts.
While Alyssa was at the hospital, all was going well, until the baby flipped and went breech. His heartbeat was touch and go. He passed meconium (babies first poop) and they believe he aspirated on it. There was also mention of the cord being around his neck.
On March 10, Alyssa ended up having an emergency C-section. Kobe was not breathing when they took him out of the womb. They were able to revive him, but they believed he had some possible brain damage.
They airlifted him to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, where they started cool therapy, keeping his body in hypothermia for four days to help his brain recover. He was warmed up and given an MRI, which came back that his brain looked good. Unfortunately, other issues have been found with Kobe’s heart. His aorta did not fully grow, and he has holes in his heart. They will be doing open-heart surgery tomorrow, March 20.
I want to thank everyone that knew of the situation for your prayers and good wishes. You all have been a huge support to them and they appreciate it so very much.
This little guy is a fighter. This family desperately needs your help to cover all the costs that are accruing. Please, Let’s show them some love!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! God Bless!
