Hi, my name is Courtney and it is with a very heavy heart that myself and my partner suffered a tragic loss of our gorgeous baby boy at 35+6 weeks pregnant. The cause of death for our son was placental abruption and hearing the words no parent should ever have to hear “I’m so sorry I can’t find a heartbeat” was absolutely heartbreaking, it then very quickly went downhill not only have we been told our gorgeous boy Koah had passed away but I was internally bleeding, I tried to have a natural labour still and laboured for 3 hours before I started bleeding I had lost 500ml, my partner and midwives convinced me to have an emergency cesarean section and our son was born 20 minutes after I was taken to surgery, however I started to bleed more heavily in total I lost 4.5 litres of blood and was in surgery for over 4 hours to try and save my life, my family were of course absolutely devastated with everything that was happening and it was then decided that I needed to have a subtotal hysterectomy at the age of 22, my blood wouldn’t clot and I wasn’t able to be stitched up until the following morning and was transferred to intensive care in an induced coma until the following morning, I was then woken up to be told that yes our son Koah was born sleeping and that I lost 4.5 litres of blood and that I had undergone a subtotal hysterectomy. Our gorgeous perfect baby boy was born at 20:46pm on Friday the 16th of August weighing 6lbs 8ozs 3/4. Unfortunately as we have a little girl who is shortly turning 1 financially we are struggling to give our little boy the best send off he deserves. We are raising money to help with funeral costs and when the time comes his headstone. If anyone has anything to spare we would be eternally grateful. Thank you for reading this far.
