Hi my name is Koa. I'm a sweet and silly 2 year old rescue dog. I love everyone I meet and have even won over some non dog lovers! When I was just a baby I was at risk of being euthanized because my sister had parvo and I had been exposed to it. I was rescued by Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue in Omaha, NE and adopted by my foster Mom. I thought my troubles were over but when I was 9 months old I was diagnosed with severe bilateral hip dysplasia. Because of this I have to limit my activity. I love my morning walks but often times when we get to the end of the driveway I have to sit down and tell my Mom I’m too sore and need to go home. I’ve been taking medication, supplements, getting laser treatments and going to the chiropractor but my condition is getting progressively worse. It has been determined that the best course of action is for me to have both hips completely replaced. I will be heading to Colorado Canine Orthopedics on September 12th for my first of 2 hip surgeries. My surgeries and rehab will end up costing over $12,000. The vet says I have an excellent chance of living a completely normal life once I’m recovered from these procedures. Can you help me out in this exciting but scary journey I have ahead of me? Any amount is greatly appreciated!
