Hi I am Koa's aunt Lauren and I am creating this gofundme on behalf of Emma, Koa's mom. Just less than 2 weeks ago our world was turned upside down. Koa was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). ALL is a fast-growing blood and bone marrow cancer that affects his lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell. Koa was admitted to the American Family Children's Hospital on May 9th and was discharged yesterday, May 21st. Within those 13 days Koa has undergone 2 blood transfusions, 2 platelet transfusions, 1 bone marrow biopsy, 2 spinal taps, had a nasogastric (NG) tube placed, had a PICC line placed, and has gone through 3 rounds of chemotherapy. Koa will continue treatment once a week at the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison for at least 2 years.

Koa is 2 and a half years old, and will turn 3 this coming September. While only being 2 and a half, Koa has impacted so many lives in just a short amount of time. He is kind, caring, brave, and positively sassy. He has a smile that can lighten the darkest of days and gives hugs that can put you at ease. Koa loves monster trucks, paw patrol, any and all cars, watermelon, mac and cheese, and loves being around friends and family. Koa is also selfless. Whether if its making sure mama was okay when they first got to the hospital, sharing food with everyone including dogs, or even sharing his favorite cars with his new friends. Koa inspires everyone, including myself, to be a better person then they were the day before.
