KNYO Save Our Station Antenna Fund

Hi Friends. In the last batch of storms the 70 ft. pine tree that held our antenna fell to the ground with a crash! After 16 years our antenna was on the ground! To provide our Community with the content and signal quality that we need we have set a goal to raise $5000 to fund the construction of a new tower and antenna installation.

When we founded the Noyo Radio Project in 2000 we had no idea that our concept would keep a Low Power FM station on the air for 16 years. We have learned a lot in that time.

One of the most important things that we have learned is that the support of the Community is all-important in the maintenance of an all-Volunteer nonprofit FM station. When we started we intended to provide the best content and the best access to the airwaves with our limited resources. Our intention was not to become famous, or make the "big bucks", but to provide our Community with a valuable service and support our listeners and fellow nonprofits. To do this we operate on a "shoestring budget" with essentially no backup fund. When a crisis like this comes up we are in trouble. This is where YOU come into the picture. If you enjoy KNYO or simply the concept of an all-Volunteer local nonprofit FM station we need your help. If you can donate some of your hard-earned cash to our KNYO Save Our Station Antenna Fund that would be wonderful. If you cannot it would help us immensely if you could forward the info on our campaign to your friends and Family via email or social media.

Our goal is to use $3000 to purchase a good quality tower that will outlast us. A new antenna that will give better coverage and new better quality coax cable can be bought for $1000. We need another $1000 for hardware, guy wires, concrete, etc. for a tower installation.
