Knycos and Emily's COVID recovery
Donation protected
Anyone who knows Knycos Ferguson would describe him as a big personality, with an even bigger heart. Knycos is always providing for others – for his wife Emily, his children Kaden and Avery, for his coworkers at Rochester Institute of Technology, and through his volunteer work with both the RIT Ambulance Service and as an EMT for CHS Mobile Integrated Healthcare. Even as COVID-19 began to escalate in our region, Knycos continued this important work, serving his community, his neighbors, and his friends.
Unfortunately just after Christmas, Knycos tested positive for COVID-19. He isolated to protect his family, and all were hopeful for a mild case. Unfortunately that was not to be, and Knycos was admitted to ICU at Highland on New Year’s Day, and two days later was transferred to Strong Hospital ICU, where he is currently on a ventilator.
As Knycos continues to fight to recover, Emily has recovered from her own case of COVID, and is currently on leave from her own job at RIT, caring for their two children, unable to even visit.
Emily and Knycos are facing looming medical bill for his long stay, as well as projected needs for physical therapy and rehabilitation once Knycos is back on his feet. My hope is that any assistance we can provide through this fund will help take the pressure off of Emily to figure out financial logistics, and let both of them focus on healing and recovery. Your continued support both through this fund as well as through your ongoing prayers and positive thoughts, is greatly appreciated.
Knycos has always given assistance from the bottom of his heart to anyone who has asked. As friends, neighbors, coworkers and part of their extended RIT family, it is now our opportunity to give back.
