Deliver a Liver for Shae... ❤️✨

Our best friend, Shae, has been in hospital for over 6 weeks awaiting a liver transplant and we need your help.

“The three musketeers” as they called us (Shae, Zak and Ari) were born and grew up in Ibiza, Spain, a little over 20 years ago. We spent almost everyday together until we were six years old, when we eventually all moved away from the island. Zak to England, Ari to Ireland and Shae to Thailand. Although there was distance between us, the strong bond between us remained and we continued to holiday together whenever possible.

In 2020, Shae moved to Denmark to do his IB and progress with his education after completing his IGCSE’s in Koh Samui.

When Shae was eight he was diagnosed with a chronic liver condition known as PSC (primary sclerosing cholangitis). It is extremely rare in the general pediatric population, affecting only 1 in 100,000. Although he was diagnosed with this condition, it remained under control over the years, and Shae continued to live like any other kid.

Unfortunately, in January 2024, Shae’s condition took a turn for the worse. Symptoms of serious liver failure became apparent, he was lower in energy, jaundiced with a serious unnatural yellow complexion in both eyes and skin, etc. Shae was then admitted to hospital to undergo tests and numerous traumatising procedures hoping to stabilise his condition. It has been a total roller coaster ride for him. Unfortunately, none of the procedures could restore his liver to its former self, therefore he has now been put on the liver transplant waiting list as priority number one.

We (Zak and Ari) have set up this gofundme for our best friend Shae, to help him and his family with the financial trouble they will have during this difficult and stressful time. Shae’s whole family have dropped everything at their home in Thailand to be with Shae in Denmark. Shae’s mother, Lotte, flew over immediately when he was admitted to hospital. Shae’s father, Steve, and brother, Lucas, remained in Thailand to sort out the logistics of leaving their home, businesses and education behind, but will soon be joining Shae and Lotte. Shae’s sister, Satya, will also be making her way back to Copenhagen, from her home in California, to support Shae as well.

After Shae’s transplant he will have many months of recovery to endure, requiring his family to remain at his side for the next year at least. They are going to need financial support from our community to help ease the transition of uprooting their lives and to find an apartment, where Shae can recover, with the company of his family, close enough to the hospital for the daily appointments he will have post-transplant.

So we ask that you please help us, help our best friend and his family, by donating whatever amount you can so we can hopefully ease the financial burden they will have on top of the stress Shae and his family will go through as he recovers.
