Knoxville, Tennessee and Muroran, Japan became sister cities in 1991. Every year since then, Muroran has sent a delegation of students to visit Knoxville, stay with families, shadow their host students, experience Halloween festivities, and immerse themselves in our culture.
Knoxville has sent only two delegations of students to Muroran since 1991. In 2016 we are celebrating our 25 year anniversary as sister cities. The mayor of Muroran has invited a delegation of students from Knoxville to visit in July of 2016.
We have students who are very passionate about visiting Muroran and learning a new culture, however, this trip will be cost prohibitive for many of the students hoping for the chance to go. They are hard working, eager to learn, and excited for this cultural opportunity.
Funds will be used to help provide airfare, hotel accommodations for the nights not spent with a host family, food, and transportation while in Japan.

毎年 室蘭市は生徒たちを派遣しシーダーブラフミドルスクールに訪問し、アメリカの家庭でホームステイをしてハローウイーン祭りなどアメリカ文化を経験しています。
２０１６年は２５周年記念です。室蘭市長がシーダーブラフの生徒たちを７月の室蘭港祭りに招待してくれました。
シーダーブラフの生徒は室蘭市を訪問し日本の文化を学びたいと思っていますが旅行費用を用意することに困っています。この生徒たちは一生懸命 日本のことを学びたいと強く思っています。
この基金は飛行機代、ホテル代（ホームステイ以外の日）、食事代、交通費に使用する予定です。
