Help with Knox’s Surgery Expenses
Donation protected
Hey, y’all - I can’t believe I’m typing this, but here we are.
If you’ve talked to me in the last three months, odds are part of that conversation has included Knox’s medical situation.
He started experiencing symptoms at the beginning of January and it took us 7 vet visits to get answers, including 5 emergency vet visits and a specialist visit.
The diagnosis is officially a laterally slipped disk in his cervical spine that was pressing on the nerve that goes to his front left leg. In the surgery, they removed part of the bone around the nerve and a portion of the disk. He’s recovering very well.
I never imagined that I’d been in a position where our vet bills were over $15,000 because of an ultrasound, a MRI, ultrasound guided injections, and most recently, spine surgery.
I have pet insurance, but the yearly maximum is $5,000. His treatment had maxed out the pet insurance before we even got to surgery. The surgery total, including medicine and hospitalization was $8900ish.
So here I am, asking for help. If you have some change in your couch or could spare a few dollars to help offset some of his vet bills, I’d really appreciate it.
