Knox County Deputy Steven May was involved in a serious motor vehicle crash on June 23, 2023 while off duty and had to be airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. He is stable, however he will have a long road ahead for recovery as he has suffered traumatic injury to at least one leg. Deputy May serves the citizens of Knox County in the Criminal Court Division. Deputy May's wife Courtney was also injured in the crash, and she too will have a long road to recovery. As this was an off duty incident, the medical expenses associated with this type of treatment is catastrophic to finances on a family, and we are asking for your help, however the amount, in assisting this servant family.
