Hey everyone! Carl and Jessica Knowles here. We have been trying (unsuccessfully) for the last few months to acquire funding to purchase a clothing alteration shop in our hometown. Banks won’t help us because we don’t OWN anything to use as collateral, and working part time jobs just doesn’t cut it for saving up the several thousands of dollars needed for a down payment (or leveraging against a bigger loan) in just a few months.
We also recently tested positive for Covid, and have thus been unable to work anywhere for the last two weeks, so are extremely low on funds in general.
This has been a dream of Jessica’s since she was a little girl to own her own business. After getting her BA in Business Marketing and Management, and me with my BFA in Costuming, we went to work at DisneyWorld. Myself in Costuming Alterations, and her managing a construction company on Disney property, our combined experience working with and around DisneyWorld level projects means we both have the experience in our respective fields necessary to make this dream happen. We have our business license, a lawyer, and all the documentation needed to move forward.
BUT WE NEED MAJOR FUNDING HELP.
Please assist in any way you can. Spread the word to anyone you might know willing to help, and aid us in getting this dream off the ground!

The short version is that this amount is going to be rolled over into a loan for the full $100,000 cost of the business, and if we only hit about half, that will cover our down payment only. We are keeping all the existing employees, and will need enough to cover their wages, as well as any monthly bills for the business itself. Rent, supplies, etc. This business has been around for 40+ years, and we want to keep it going. It’s one of the only places in our hometown that does clothing alterations, and we want to keep it going for the next 40 years!
Please help us do this.
