Hi, I'm Sue Bates, the mother of Jeff Bates (Gina) and grandmother of a 13 year old girl, Kaydence Bryant, who was just diagnosed with a very rare disease, Degos Disease. Kaydence is an honor roll student at Orchard View Middle School. She is also involved in the Gaming Club and plays trumpet in the band. Kaydence loves animae, Pokemon, and Skyrim. On May 19, she was taken to Mercy Hospital with stomach pain and then transferred to Helen DeVos. Kadence has had 4 surgeries since entering the hospital. Degos is a disease so rare that only 20 people in the US have been diagnosed with it. It is an obliterative vasculopathy disease which has caused a large portion of her small intestine to die.

Jeff and Gina both hold full time jobs. At this time, they are unable to work so they can spend all their time at the hospital with Kaydence as she fights for her life.
