We are asking for people associated with Maurine Bunce, owner of the local yarn store, Knitty Gritty, on Main Street to assist her and her family as they manage the recent trauma that has overcome them. For those of you who are unaware Maurine and her husband both in their 70s where in the process of moving a large appliance at their farm home. When it fell on her causing her to fall of her deck shattering her tibia. Since her tibia is a major weight bearing leg bone, she will be bed bound and/or wheel chair bound for up to 6 months. She and her husband care for his mother and the alpacas, sheep, guard dogs, and meanwhile she dyes yarns for the store and works diligently at keeping it afloat during the pandemic. We, her knitting friends are doing our best to maintain the store but there are many needs to be met: transportation to and from surgeries and doctor appointments, hospital bills, and assistance in farm hand work and if possible meals. Maurine has been handling all of these endeavors on her own and doesn't easily ask for help so we are reaching out on her behalf. If there is anything you can contribute it would be greatly appreciated. You can contact us at the store for more information or clarification.
