Hi, my name is Breanna. I’m a young nursing student who has always been passionate about caring for others. Outside of school, I’ve worked hard as a server — a job I’ve always enjoyed because it lets me connect with people and brighten their day in small ways.
Unfortunately, during what was supposed to be a short and relaxing out-of-state vacation, my life took an unexpected turn. Through no fault of my own, I suffered a severe injury — I dislocated my knee and shattered my tibial plateau. The damage was extensive, requiring two major surgeries to repair.
Recovery has been long, painful, and full of challenges. I was admitted into four hospitals and transferred via ambulance six times. I’m currently unable to walk or bear weight on my leg, making it impossible for me to work as a server or support myself. This is the first time I’ve ever been unemployed, and it’s been a huge emotional and financial struggle. On top of that, ongoing insurance issues have delayed essential care and treatment, which has added stress during an already overwhelming time. Without insurance coverage for physical therapy, I need financial help to access the treatment that will allow me to walk again.
As someone who is studying to become a nurse, I'm used to being the one offering comfort, encouragement, and support to patients going through difficult recoveries. Now, I’m experiencing that journey firsthand — and it has been humbling. I’m determined to heal, regain my independence, and return to both school and work so I can continue pursuing my dream of helping others in the medical field.
Right now, I could truly use some support to get through this period while I focus on recovery and rebuilding my strength. Every donation — no matter the size — makes a real difference and helps relieve the financial weight on my shoulders. I am incredibly grateful for any help, prayers, or shares. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting me during this difficult time.
