Knee surgery for Kiki!
Donation protected
Hello! Thanks for taking the time to read this! A very good friend (and business partner full transparency) adopted a German Shepherd puppy about 4 years ago. One day we were at the dog park and she slipped on a slick patch of ice chasing a ball and began to cry. We brought Kiera to the vet and they discovered that she had a Degenerative Joint Disease and needed surgery on her knee right away. The recovery time was long, painful, and mentally exhausting. She was house ridden for months and was no longer allowed to chase balls, squirrels, or wrestle her best friends...but we got through it.
Recently we found that now her left rear leg now needs the same surgery. We were on route to pay off the previous surgery and were hoping to finance the next surgery to prevent her from placing too much weight on her repaired knee..but the world had other plans.
James (Kiera's owner) and myself own a pet care company that has taken a complete nose dive during the recent pandemic. Every day that Kiera goes without surgery increases the risk for further complications. There are not many feelings worse than watching someone suffer, and when its someone as helpless and innocent as "Kiki" it really stings.
James is an incredible person that goes above and beyond for so many people and communities here in Philadelphia. Kiera is his pride and joy, and while he and I will continue working to raise the funds to get Kiera back in working condition, we ask for your help. Anything you are able to contribute would help us in so many ways. Thank you for your time and generosity.
