I need the support of my people. I woke up to Dennis having a (clonic-tonic) seizure this past Sunday morning, August 12th. He's never had a seizure before so as those of you who've seen one can imagine, I was terrified and sure he was going to die, right there next to me in bed. I called 911 and after a traumatic and IMO, unnecessarily rough transport, leaving him with severe bruising, cuts and a torn rotator cuff, we were at the hospital. After 2 days of testing, they found a lesion/tumor on his right temporal lobe. They've started him on seizure meds which gives some peace of mind but we are now looking at brain surgery to remove the mass. It's been one of the hardest weeks in our 22+ years together and we need some virtual hugs/love/juju/prayers/Wonder Twin Powers, whatevs.
Per state law, it is illegal to drive following a seizure for 6 months. This is obviously very stressful and although I know we'll get through, this is tough on our family and on Dennis who is now completely reliant on others.
We are completely overwhelmed, physically and emotionally. I wanted to share with those of you that didn't know and update those who have been involved. We are still a bit shocked by all of this and with Dennis' injuries taking the forefront, we've not had time to fully wrap our heads around the future. I guess I'm putting it all out there because I believe in the power of energy, prayers, positive thinking and you guys are loaded with it. We love you so much!
