Woman's health in East Africa

For the last 2 years I have spent a week in November working with Hand of Hope and International Crisis Aid in East Africa. The needs of the local people are overwhelming, what really grabbed my heart strings other than the starving woman and children is the plight of mothers and older woman who are walking around with obstetric Fistular's and prolapsed uteri. These woman live with these afflictions and are ostrasised by both their families and the local community. They have no access to medical care, no access to nice flushing toilets or to the personal products we all take for granted. Most don't even have underware. Last year I was able to transport a group of woman to the Yiragellum hamlin Woman's Fistula Hospital- http://hamlin.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Dr-Hamlin-Newsletter-Summer-2014.pdf Once the woman are at the hospital, they are operated on free of charge and transported home once recovered. The money I will raise will be used to transport the woman from the remote clinic to the hospital- an 8hr trip, it will also be used to provide underware and personal products. All contributions are tax deductible and a tax receipt will be supplied on request.
