On Friday, April 10, our seventh and eighth grade teacher Mrs. Erin Martin and her family survived a fire in their home. Her husband Casey was at work while she and her four children safely evacuated the home. The fire was mostly confined to the kitchen area; however, there is water and smoke damage.


The Martins are temporarily being housed with Erin's sister. They have plans to move into a bed and breakfast since they will be displaced from their home for approximately 2 to 3 months.


This is such an incredibly hard thing to go through, and then you add in the stress of this pandemic. Mrs. Martin is trying to teach her own children and run her classroom online. Now she has this added stress of not even being in her own home for the remainder of the school year.
