We are reaching out to raise funds for our family member, Teddy Bear. Teddy was rescued by Greg a few years ago from a shelter in South Lake Tahoe. Not a whole lot was known about Teddy’s life before adoption, but signs pointed to a life that included abuse. He is a pit bull mix, his ears were cut, & he was standoffish and timid. He also only had three legs; two upfront and one in the back. The shelter was unsure of how he lost his leg. It took a minute for Teddy to settle into his new home, but once he did— he opened up completely. He is the kindest, most gentle dog— we rarely even hear him bark! He’s become a neighborhood favorite, along with his best friends, Kona (RIP), Hubble and Trinka— on the same street. They are true Tahoe doggos. Teddy was struck by a vehicle in Tahoma on Wednesday, June 21st, in the afternoon. The driver was distracted, and unfortunately ran Teddy over. He suffered a few minor injuries that will heal— including broken ribs & cuts and bruises on his extremities and face. Unfortunately, he ALSO suffered from a bad compact fracture on his rear (and only) leg. This injury DOES require surgery. Once the surgery has been performed, attentive healing will ensure a full recovery. Teddy’s quality of life was already below par, walking with only three legs has been a struggle. It’s now impossible for him to get around. We have a sling to help carry him outside to go potty, and get some fresh air and sunshine— but he can no longer walk on his own until the surgery is performed. It is heartbreaking to watch him go through all of this pain, and it’s a major struggle to get him in and out of the house, considering he is 100lbs! This boy is alllll muscle. But we are willing to do it, considering our love for this guy. He is one of us, a part of our family. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Please share♥️
