Beau's Road To Recovery
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Kate and I am raising money for Beau Atkinson.
On Monday at about 2 am I took Beau to the ER. He was having trouble breathing and we were very scared. Upon arrival, they were treating him with some breathing treatments. When that didn't seem to be helping, they decided to take him for a chest X-ray. While walking to get the X-Ray, Beau started screaming that he could not breathe. In one of the scariest moments of our lives, that fear came true, and Beau did collapse and stopped breathing. Thank the lord that we were in the ER when this happened or that would have been Beau's last moment with me on this Earth. Beau was hooked up to machines and med-flighted to another hospital in the hopes that there, they would be able to save his life. Beau was then intubated and put on a ventilator. From this point, all we could do was pray that he would fight, and boy did he.
After a few days in critical condition, Beau was finally taken off life support and started to breathe on his own. Beau is a rockstar and shows his strength with each challenge he faces. Beau has now learned he has eosinophilic asthma and with his lung's current condition, this is something that is going to require daily maintenance and care.
The road to recovery is not going to be the easiest, but I have no doubt he will come through stronger than ever. Unfortunately, at the event's time, Beau had no health insurance at the time, due to a lapse in swapping over coverage to Ellistons Plan. We are humbly asking for any help with the medical expenses that have been accrued thus far/the ones that will be required now moving forward.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Asking for help is not easy, and I appreciate everyone who has been keeping Beau in their prayers. They are working!!
