Hello,
My name is Scott Johnson, A.K.A. "G-Man", I am 49 years old and have recently endured some sudden medical problems.  In August 2015 I started to experience numbness in my feet and legs,  worried about a poor circulation problem I went to the Dr. right away.  They ruled out any circulation problems and I was refered to some specialists.  After several months of progressively getting worse, losing more mobility, more than 100 Dr. appointments and many MRI's they found a tumor on my spine.  I was assigned a neurologist and a spinal surgeon to collaborate and decide how to proceed the least invasive way possible.   The neurologist thought the best way was to try to shrink or possibly remove the tumor with steroids.  Unfortunately this procedure did not shrink the tumor, and tumor then grew so rapidly I was told I must have it surgically removed as soon as possible.  I had surgery Dec. 26th where they discovered the tumor was not only on the spine, it was inside the spinal cord, so the spinal cord was cut open to remove a 36mm tumor.  Waking up from surgery I heard this news and had no feeling from the bottom of my rib cage down and had no movement in my left leg or foot and very little movement in my right leg and foot.  I spent 3 nights in Methodist hospital and was released to a transitional care unit where I stayed for 27 days.  During these 27 days I was brought, by ambulance, back to the hospital three times because of a fever and having to confirm the spinal cord was not leaking spinal fluid and causing the fever.  Dr.'s, and myself, were concerned we were not seeing as much progress as we had hoped, and recommended more extensive therapy and sent me to Regions Hospital Spinal Treatment Center where I stayed for 30 days.  I did receive much better therapy and learned how to function in a wheelchair.  My condition has not allowed me to work since mid September and I am not sure if I will be able to return to a physical job I have working for the City of Prior Lake's Park and Recreation Department.  I would greatly appreciate any donations to help me through this unexpected situation.  Dr's do remain optimistic I should regain enough use of my legs and feet to walk again, but it will be a long journey.  I will use any funds donated to me to pay my many medical bills, ambulance rides, and to pay my mortgage while I am working very hard in therapy to get back to work as soon as possible.
