Hi, my name is Teresa and I am Henry's Grandma. Henry is a lovable dwerp. His twin sister, Keys, has always been the thinker of the two. Henry and Keys escaped their (very large and secure) backyard last night. It was with wild abandon that Henry ran the short block to Greenwood (and in my imagination with Keys running behind him begging him to stop). Sadly, they both crossed without looking both ways first. Henry was sadly run over by a mail truck (who kept on going). As I understand it many Bend Angels stopped to help Henry and to them we are eternally grateful. A wonder lady called the Police, while more wonderful people followed Henry and kept him safe and warm. A nice man followed Keys who ran back home to get her Mommy and Daddy. With the help of their neighbor my daughter and her husband were able to get right to Henry and rush him to Bend Animal Emergency and Specialty Center where he was kept overnight. Henry will need surgery to either fix his broken leg/hip or to remove it. As I get clearer information this morning I will update this GoFundMe request. They paid $3400 last night and the quote for continuing was between $3000 and $8000 as I understand it. Again, I don't have updated information yet but will provide it as soon I get it.
