**Help Us Host an Afternoon Tea for Female Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse**

Hello, my name is Yvonne, and I am raising funds to host an Afternoon Tea Awareness Event for female survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA) on Saturday, 12 September 2026, from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

I experienced childhood sexual abuse between the ages of 9 and 13 at the hands of my father. As a survivor, I understand firsthand the devastating impact this abuse can have on every area of a person's life. It took me more than 20 years to reclaim my life from the effects of trauma. The journey was long, difficult, and often lonely, particularly at a time when very few people spoke openly about their experiences.

Sadly, many survivors still carry feelings of shame, guilt, and isolation. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and empowering space where survivors can come together, share hope, build connections, and know they are not alone.

For more than 13 years, I have supported survivors of childhood sexual abuse through my organisation, Daughter Arise, which I founded to provide support, awareness, and empowerment for survivors. Through my work, I have facilitated support groups, delivered training to professionals, spoken publicly about the impact of abuse, and advocated for survivors across multiple sectors. I have witnessed the incredible strength of survivors and the importance of creating spaces where healing and connection can take place.

This is not my first awareness event. I successfully hosted Afternoon Tea events in London in 2013 and 2014, and another in California, USA, in 2019. Survivors, family members, and supporters travelled from across the country to attend. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees describing the events as inspiring, healing, and empowering.

This event is especially important to me because I know the power of community. Meeting others who understand your journey can be life-changing. While there are an estimated 11 million adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse in the UK, many remain hidden behind a wall of secrecy, shame, and silence.

Childhood sexual abuse continues to affect countless children, and many carry the burden of that trauma well into adulthood. No one should have to walk that path alone.

Our goal is to raise £2250.00. The funds raised will help cover the costs of hosting this event for up to 80 attendees, including:

• Venue hire
• Food and refreshments
• Catering equipment
• Audio and PA equipment
• Printed programmes and materials
• Volunteer expenses
• Transportation and event logistics

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps create a safe, supportive, and empowering space for survivors. Your donation will directly contribute to making this event accessible and meaningful for those who attend.

I will post regular updates as we move closer to the event date.

Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser. The reality is that someone you know may have experienced childhood sexual abuse, even if they have never spoken about it. Your support will help create a meaningful event that offers connection, encouragement, hope, and community to survivors.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.

Warm regards,

Yvonne
