My name is Jesus, and I have been living in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, for the past four years. In 2023, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Since then, I have undergone multiple treatments and rounds of chemotherapy in the hope of overcoming this disease.
After nearly two years of fighting, things finally seemed to be moving in the right direction. My last chemotherapy treatment was scheduled for April 7, and we believed we were getting close to the finish line. Unfortunately, on June 8, I received news I never expected to hear: my cancer had returned.
The following day, I was admitted to Royal University Hospital, where I am currently receiving immunotherapy to prepare my body for a bone marrow transplant, which, if all goes well, will take place at the end of July. This transplant represents my best chance of beating the disease, but it also means facing a long recovery period during which I will be unable to work, potentially for one to two years.
Because of this, I find myself in the difficult position of asking for help. I do not have any family in Canada, and I live only with my wife, who has stood by my side and supported me throughout this entire journey. While I focus on treatment and recovery, the costs of housing, transportation, medications, and everyday living expenses will continue to add up.
If you are in a position to make a donation, no matter the amount, I would be deeply grateful. If you are unable to contribute financially, simply sharing this post would mean a great deal and help me reach more people.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and thank you for any support, prayers, kind words, or encouragement you can offer during this challenging chapter of my life.
With gratitude,
Jesus
