Our community has always been blessed by the kindness, generosity, and spirit of the Huggins family — and now, it’s our turn to give back.

Chris Huggins is facing cancer for the second time. This time, the fight is even harder — stage 4 Colorectal Cancer with Solitary Liver Metastasis — and he’s preparing to undergo six months of chemotherapy, and surgery. Despite the challenges ahead, Chris continues to face each day with courage, humor, and the same positivity he’s always shared with everyone around him.

As many know, Chris and Jen are devoted parents and an incredible part of our community. Whether it’s volunteering countless hours with Collingwood Minor Baseball or Collingwood Minor Hockey the Huggins family gives tirelessly or their time. Chris often offers his DJ services for local events, and fundraisers, free of charge. The Huggins family is always among the first to lend a hand, give their time, and lift others up.

But now, they need our support.

Without workplace benefits this time, the financial strain of treatment and recovery will be significant. Jen, who is self-employed, will be the family’s primary income earner, making it difficult to take time off or turn away clients — even when she needs to be by Chris’s side.

All funds raised will go directly toward helping the Huggins family manage the costs of travel to the Cancer Treatment Centre, medical appointments, treatment-related expenses, and allowing Jen the flexibility to take time away from work when needed to support Chris and their boys through this difficult time.

Chris has been there for so many of us — cheering from the sidelines, volunteering his time, and sharing his music and energy at community events. It’s time we come together and show the Huggins family just how much they mean to us.
