Well, we got robbed. At 7pm on Monday, June 23, 2025 we arrived at Kincaid's at 60 Bayview Place, Burlingame, CA 94010. Our flight was delayed. We drove from Fresno to the Restaurant (3.5 hours). We went and ate there for only - 45 minutes. There was a security guard who didn't alert anyone, but was supposed to protect and watch over all the vehicles in the restaurant parking lot. Our vehicle was the only one that was broken into on the premises.
We parked in the front of the restaurant in the handicap space. All the cameras were able to see our SUV. Upon arrival, we asserted that there were 4 people in our party, however it was 5 of us in total, including our dog, GG. The host stated that it would take about 10 minutes to be seated, and we rebutted that we could sit at the bar, since we have a flight to catch. The host returned and sat us in 2 minutes at the farthest table away from the entrance of the establishment.
We communicated to our server that we had a flight to catch as well. KK left the restaurant at 7:45 pm, and was the first person to witness and see the broken glass scattered along the pavement. The security guard walked back into the restaurant, and did not inform us that the car was broken into. He instead asserted that he was in the bathroom during the time of the incident. However, another patron, named Ms. Alice, stated that his claims were not accurate. She saw him in the parking lot near or by the time the car was broken into...the manager was reluctant to call the police, and was flabbergasted that they arrived at the scene in less than 5 minutes. We asked her prior to the police arriving, if she would check the cameras, and she asserted that the cameras might not work. Luckily, the police instructed her to show them the cameras, and it was clear that the Security Guard spoke to the robber, who parked in a white Nissan next to the right passenger side of the vehicle, prior to him breaking into it. The police completed their initial investigation, and advised the security guard to not return to his post, outside.
Here are the items that the robber stole: my Michael Khors purse, my black bookbag, KKfunktress Ross bookbag and Tiera Ross bookbag, Charis Jones luggage, and Maya Oquendo bookbag and luggage. They also stole over 5k cash, passports, IDs, hearing aid charger, atm cards, credit cards, stethoscope, Rolex, Versace prescription sunglasses, Rickenbacker 4003 jetglo string bass guitar, mother's blanket, my musician union and SAG AFTRA union cards, 2 MacBook Pros, 1 IPad Pro, Diamond earrings, size 6.5 Jordan's, Louis Vuitton purse and wallet, my dog GG's water bowl and food bowl, my house keys, Tiera's car and house keys.
The cops came and helped us clean up the car. Officer Theodore went above and beyond to offer assistance, by obtaining a broom from the Restaurant and sweeping the glass away from the tires and as best as He could off of the seats. But unfortunately, a few of us were cut by the glass. KK and Maya cut their hands and Charis cut her foot from the glass. In trying to make us laugh, once they figured out who I was, they made a joke and said maybe you did make the "Men to Pause" since he didn't steal everything. But they surely stole a lot of our belongings, some of which can't be replaced. Typically, they would have cleared out the entire SUV.
We attempted to get a refund for our $224 meal at the restaurant and the manager Tina Pham Lagms said that she couldn't refund our money and that we would have to talk with the corporate. The restaurant was not accommodating to us. While we were trying to coordinate flights, we realized that we couldn't fly out because of lost IDs. Maya asked for bandaids, alcohol wipes, and towels since we had to sit on the broken glass to ride to the airport.
Yet, we missed our flights from San Francisco that evening to LA on Southwest and Ontario on United Airlines. We attempted to obtain a hotel voucher, but since the flight departed this was not an option. We were not able to rebook the 2 flights from SFO to Ontario, because the customer representative refunded the money back to the stolen card. At the time, we did not have any funds to even cover the incidentals for a hotel stay, and thus we stayed in the car with the broken windows and glass. Once the temperatures dropped, and it began to rain, we left the rental SUV parked out front of the SFO rental facility, and moved the remaining bags inside. From 3am - 6am, we camped out at the rental car facility, awaiting for Enterprise to open at 6am.
At 6am, we exchanged the burglarized SUV for a new one. They provided a larger SUV. Our only option was to drive to Los Angeles, since we could not collectively get on the plane. It took about 7.5 hours to drive from SFO to Los Angeles, and we arrived late afternoon on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
Thanks to donations received from Cash App, we were able to put gas in the tank and get some snacks from 7-11. We are certainly grateful for everyone's assistance, because we were honestly stranded, unsettled, and scared. As the days have progressed, the trauma of this experience has been tumultuous. Everyone is trying to either go back to normalcy, but have so many calls to make to close accounts, change locks, and report the damage of everything.
This is a lot but we are grateful to not have been harmed. But are still in shock. We have received guidance from our attorneys and publicists. And our biggest desire is to provide awareness about safety in travel as women and musicians.
If anyone is able to offer help with funds, so that we can attempt to repurchase or cover the cost of buying new car keys, replacing house locks, and etc., we really would appreciate it. We are figuring out how to make a claim with Geico Insurance, as well.
