KLIKme Payatas

Hi, I’m Marie Claire G. Dolar and I am part of KLIK Mobile Education’s “5M in 5Y” revolution of caring.
I am a KLIKme Angel raising money to benefit a KLIKme community of 100 out-of-school youth and adults in Payatas, Quezon City, a garbage dumpsite community in the Philippines.
Why Payatas? I have never been there but I know that they need my help to educate thousands of people there who have not finished high school.
I was raised by a single mother and I always valued education. Growing up in Geronimo, in Sampaloc, Manila I served in the Kabataang Barangay as KB councilor during my college years. I saw poverty in many areas of our barangay. I saw so many youth who dropped out of school, killing their dreams. I saw young people who are into drugs and lives of crime to escape their problems, and youth who stopped schooling to work so they can help their parents. Some escape their family situation and get pregnant at an early age.
That exposure opened my eyes to the blessing that I am able to go to school and fulfilled my dreams working as a physical therapist here in the USA. Even if we were hard up in so many ways back then , I can’t help but think of those whose life was much more difficult than mine.
When I got introduced to KLIKme, I got excited and passionate that finally these youth would be given opportunities that in my time as a student and KB councilor I could not give and afford! I turned 50 this year, and it is my prayer that at this time I continue to give back the blessings that I was given all these years, by sharing and giving hope to others.
