In early 2024, our family had to make an incredibly difficult decision. My son suddenly developed severe allergies, and we were forced to rehome our German Shepherd, Klaus — a choice that devastated all of us. We knew we needed someone loving and trustworthy, and he found that in one of my closest friends.
If you know her, you know she has the biggest heart for animals. I lovingly call her "Snow White." She takes in strays, pays for vet care for pets that aren’t even hers, and never hesitates when an animal needs her. When I told her about our situation, she was immediately all in... fully aware that Klaus has EPI, a condition that requires the cost and care of daily medication and a special diet. She took him in anyway and has cared for him with so much love.
Recently, Klaus developed a serious immune disorder (ITP) and has spent the last week in the emergency pet hospital. His care has reached $10,000, and when he comes home, he’ll need months of medication costing $500–$700 per month on top of his regular EPI treatment.
My friend would never ask for help, so I'm temporarily blocking her on social media and asking on her behalf. She has given Klaus everything she has, just like she does for every animal she cares for. He deserves the chance to get better, and she deserves support during this incredibly hard time.
If you’re able to donate or share, it would mean so much. Every bit goes directly toward Klaus’s ongoing care and recovery.
Thank you for helping this sweet boy and the kindest soul who stepped up for him when he needed it most.
