Klaus' Second Wind: Emergency Throat Surgery
Donation protected
Our beloved 4-year-old Siberian Husky, Klaus, faces a threatening situation requiring immediate attention. We need your help to raise $9,500 for surgery to remove a large mass in his throat, obstructing his airway, making it incredibly difficult for him to breathe, and diminishing his quality of life.
Klaus’ Story:
Klaus came into our lives four years ago, and from day one, he has been a loyal companion, confidant, and source of endless joy. His playful spirit, boundless energy, and soulful blue eyes have brought smiles to countless faces, even strangers on the street.
Recently, Klaus’ vibrant spirit has been overshadowed by a medical crisis. We discovered a sizable lump in Klaus's throat, causing him tremendous distress. His vet, Dr. Schwartz from New York City Animal Medical Center, has confirmed that this lump obstructs his airway and poses a risk to his life. She told us the lump needs to be surgically removed as soon as possible to prevent further complications and restore Klaus's quality of life.
This has not been Klaus’ first visit to AMC, back in 2019 Klaus received a total hip replacement by Dr.Hart thanks to friends family, and strangers alike helping us raise money for Klaus’ surgery. Dr.Hart and the AMC team made us feel so welcomed and heard, and the surgery he performed was so perfect, you would never guess that Klaus got a new hip. There was no question about where we were going to get Klaus the care and attention he needs with this sensitive health issue. We know that Klaus is in very capable paws at the Animal Medical Center.
The Urgency:
We understand that times are tough for many, but we're reaching out to our community, friends, and animal lovers far and wide for assistance. The surgery costs $9,500, a sum we cannot afford alone… Every little bit counts and your support could mean the world to Klaus. By contributing to our GoFundMe campaign, you'll be directly helping us secure the funds needed to proceed with the surgery Klaus desperately requires.
What Your Support Will Cover:
- Initial Consultation: Meeting with Dr. Schwartz to discuss symptoms or pain Klaus has been experiencing and how long those symptoms have been bothering him. Setting up the next steps figuring out what is in Klaus’ best interest.
- A computed tomographic (CT) scan: X-rays that pass through the body to create a detailed still image of your animal's organs, bones, and tissues.
- Surgical Procedure: The primary expense is the surgical procedure itself, during which skilled veterinarians will carefully remove the lump at the Animal Medical Center in NYC.
- Anesthesia and Medications: Ensuring Klaus's comfort and safety during the procedure and recovery.
- Post-Operative Care: Follow-up visits, medications, and any necessary treatments to monitor Klaus's healing progress.
Expressing Our Gratitude:
We can't find enough words to express our gratitude for your support. Your generosity will not only help Klaus's life but also restore the joy and vitality that he brings into our home. We have a social media account where you can keep updated on Klaus's progress and everyday shenanigans through photos and stories.
Your support, no matter how big or small, can make a significant difference in Klaus's life. Even if you cannot donate, you can help by sharing Klaus’ story and bring further awareness to his call for help through word of mouth and social media postings.
Klaus is not just a pet; he's a cherished member of our family. He deserves every chance at a happy, healthy life. With your help, no matter how big or small, will have a monumental impact on his well-being and happiness. Thank you for your time, love, and support.
