KLA's Playground Equipment

Recess and lunch should be a time where kids come together to escape the classroom. A time where kids exercise and play games with one another.

My name is Cameron Rude and I am a 5th-grade teacher at Keiller Leadership Academy in Lemon Grove, San Diego. KLA is in a lower-income area where parents work very hard to support and provide the best for their children. It is my goal to extend these efforts towards improving our playground.

Every day at recess, I get the questions,
"What should we do Mr. Rude?"
"We're bored. There's nothing to play with."

Currently, we have nothing but a black top, a broken basketball hoop, a soccer ball, and a couple playground balls.

I couldn't imagine growing up at a school where I couldn't play tetherball, handball, or basketball with my friends.

The goal of this campaign is to raise enough money to buy a new basketball hoop, soccer goals, tetherball poles, playground balls or even a playground set.

Any donation will be much appreciated and if you can't donate, please share the campaign with someone you think might.

Right now, GoFundMe will be donating $1,000 to 100 teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week. All we need to do is raise $500 before the 18th of May and we will be eligible.

Living in an lower-income area shouldn't limit the fun a child can have during recess. Although these great kids make the best of their situation, they deserve so much more. Thanks for reading!
