Cheryl’s Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Recently Cheryl and Sadie were involved in a hit and run accident. A van going 35-40 mph hit both Cheryl and Sadie while they were crossing the street. A witness said the man looked to be on his phone while driving and looked up last second and swerved and hit them both.
Cheryl was taken to Harborview Medical Center. She suffered a compound fracture in one leg and also broke the other. She has 3 broken ribs and two broken vertebrae. So far she has had 2 surgeries to set the bones in place and put in plates and screws. She will be in a wheelchair for at least 6 weeks until she is able to walk again, she will need a lot of physical therapy and help with daily tasks.
Sadie lost her tail in the accident and was rushed to the emergency vet by a kind witness on the scene. She was given medication to ease her pain and she was with Cheryl’s boyfriend, Mark, who she has known for the past 4 years, when she passed peacefully.
Cheryl and Sadie were inseparable since Sadie was a puppy. They went on long walks and hikes daily. Sadie was the sweetest dog and Cheryl took amazing care of her especially as she aged and faced some medical issues. This is a tragic loss for Cheryl and everyone who knew Sadie. Cheryl has a long recovery ahead of her and losing Sadie makes it a lot harder. Any support during this time is greatly appreciated and will help take off the stress of all the medical expenses from this accident.
