Tyler's dream has always been to play soccer in Spain. And now his dream is closer than ever. He was selected out of 3400 soccer players at the FCBescola camp this summer to represent the USA at the 2015 FC Barcelona Escola International Tournament in Spain. The selected players will have the chance to compete against other players all over the world like Dubai, Japan, South Korea, Egypt, Poland, India, and Barcelona among others. Makes me so happy to see him at such a young age set a goal, work hard and be so persistent in achieving it.
The tournament will be at the beginning of April and we are hoping to help raise the money needed to help Tyler travel to Spain and enjoy this experience. The cost to attend is $1500.00 for Tyler and $1300 each for his littel brother, Kyle, and Myself to go cheer him on. That's a total of $4000.00. I am required to go and Tyler wouldn't think of leaving his little brother behind.
I'm hoping to raise enough to at least cover Tyler's expenses which include the cost of the tournament, housing and food.
Tyler has played soccer since the age of 3. And since the age of 3 he has had big dreams of playing soccer in Barcelona, much like many other young soccer players. He has chosen to spend hours each week training and numerous weekends are spent at games and tournaments. Tyler's dream has now become a reality because of his dedication, hard work, persistence, and his ability to never give up. His work ethic at the age of 8 is quite impressive. Not only is he an accomplished soccer player who puts in hard work on the pitch, but he puts in hard work at home and school. Tyler has been through a lot in his young life. Yet all the while, he has exhibited a positive attitude and remained strong. He has been through the divorce of his parents and has moved homes six times in the last four years, living out of one bedroom with his mother and brother for two of those years. That takes a toll on a young child. He is a wonderful big brother and takes that job very seriously. Being a single mother, I rely on Tyler's help greatly. It's a lot for a young 8 year old, but he is so willing to help. He is generous and appreciative and mature beyond his years. He shows dedication, perseverance, and drive and I have no doubt he will go far in life. He is a role model. And as his mother, I look up to him. I believe Soccer is his outlet and his love. It puts a genuine smile on his face amidst all the thing he has been through. I want to make this trip happen for him and I'm not too proud to ask for help from all of you. Making this trip a reality for him would be a dream come true! He would be forever grateful!
