Our niece Clara Joy is a fiesty, smart 21 month old. She loves to play with her twin brother, Cameron, and 4 year old brother, CJ. She loves Doc McStuffins, playing peek-a-boo, dance parties, reading, and spending time with her family. She has a sparkle in her eye, an awesome sense of humor, and a recent diagnosis of brain cancer.
Clara had been throwing up once a day and began having trouble with her balance, sometimes to the point of falling down while walking. On December 8, a mass was found blocking the flow of cerebral spinal fluid out of the brain. On December 11, Clara had brain surgery to remove a tumor from her fourth ventricle. She will begin at least 6 weeks' worth of treatments in Philadelphia in the near future.
At this time, Clara's mom, Jamie, does not qualify for FMLA. She had taken time off work when Clara and Cameron were born, and broke her ankle in March when she was scheduled to return to work. The recovery from the break took the remainder of last school year, so she does not have enough time back at work to qualify for FMLA. Her unpaid leave began on December 15. Since the family's health insurance is through Jamie's employer, Jamie and Josh are now required to pay the full insurance premium in addition to losing Jamie's income.
Josh, Jamie, CJ, Clara, and Cameron could really use our help at this time. Please join us in supporting them in any way you can. Many of their friends and family have asked how to help. Prayers, notes of Scripture, and your encouragement can help bolster all of them as they go through this terrifying experience. Gifts of Giant grocery store gift cards and financial gifts to be used for bills and insurance premiums are also needed. If you prefer to mail your gifts directly to the Horn Family, they can be sent to:

On behalf of ourselves and the Horn Family, thank you for your caring generosity. With your help, we can ease the financial burden so Jamie and Josh can focus their time and energy on their family and Clara's recovery.
