Courtney has always been a bright light in Greenville’s service industry—a familiar, hardworking, and compassionate presence who has spent years taking care of others in our community.

In the two months since Courtney's initial spinal injury and call for aid, she has been flooded with community support, both financial and spiritual. She is eternally grateful for and humbled by the generosity that has been shown to her. Now, after 4 subsequent hospitalizations since June 6th, Courtney is in need of additional financial support. We're aiming to raise $7,000 to cover some of Courtney's living expenses while she is still unable to work and focused on recovery.

Back in June, Courtney suffered a serious fall that caused a compression fracture between her L1 and L2 vertebrae. This injury has caused extreme pain in her back, as well as significantly worsening existing nerve pain in her right leg. While being treated for her spinal injury, Courtney was also diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, which came as a huge surprise to her. On top of managing debilitating pain from her spinal injury and nerve damage, Courtney has to re-learn how to care for and feed herself under these new, life-altering circumstances.

This has all taken a tremendous toll on her physically, emotionally, and financially. She has incurred $65,000 of medical debt, and in the interest of her health, is being forced to pursue a new career path after several years invested in the service industry. Despite everything, Courtney remains incredibly grateful for the love and support around her.
