KK's Birthday Fundraiser for EcoArt Uganda

Donation protected
Hi! My name is KK and my birthday fundraiser benefits a cutting edge, colorful, and very much impactful community development arts organization and space named EcoArt Uganda. Since 2012, we have been in close relationship with the founder and TED Fellow Ruganzu when we met at TEDxSummit! This group makes art and builds resiliency and I’m so proud to support them.

As you may know, we recently launched an artist residency and this fundraiser is dedicated to expanding this program, the art space and the capacity of art makers.

UBUNTU is a concept here that means “I am because we are.” Here in Uganda, you can see this community heart and mind in everything we do, including making art. EcoArt Uganda also uses many, many materials that would otherwise wind up in landfills. We collectively care for our planet like we care for our community. This makes everything possible, with your help.

How will donations be used? Feel free to solely fund any one of these initiatives and we will work together with you to help make your donation work for everyone involved!

EcoArt Artist in Residence Program - $15,000 - we will work with young artists and creatives to award 5x $3,000 grants in 2020. This program will produce a show at the end of the residency as well as seek to generate sustaining support for EcoArt Uganda. Between us we have a powerful network of outrageously loving, talented, artistic people. We’d like to bring them here.

EcoArt Community Programs - $15,000 - Ruganzu runs Art & Creativity workshops for kids and youth across East Africa. We seek funding to support these workshops that benefit anywhere from 10-150 youth at a time directly. Art helps the social and mental development of young people so this is actually funding for their development within society through funding the development of their workshops.

Tools, materials, and construction - $13,000 - We continue to grow and expand the facilities we use to host visiting artists, teachers and mentors who help staff our programs. Help finish construction of the EcoArt residency so we can continue to welcome the world's best and brightest here to Uganda to work with kids and youth.

Please consider donating! This is a great opportunity to be part of building a one of a kind space with people who are so excited to be part of the next generation of art-makers, doing the good work for the good of the planet and everyone on it.

With lots of UBUNTU love,

KK+
