Benjamin Petty's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
My name is Jennifer Nelson and I am starting this campaign for The Petty Family.
Benjamin Petty is 15 years old and had been battling what was believed to be a stomach virus on thursday. He didn't have anything to eat on Friday. They were attempting to keep him hydrated by giving him fluids. Saturday morning, Collette went to check Benjamin's temperature, he was unresponsive. She called 911 and the paramedics came. They determined his blood pressure and blood sugar were both very low. They treated him at the house and he perked right up. The paramedics said that it wasn't necessary for him to go to the hospital since he was doing better. Later that afternoon, Benjamin had gone to the bathroom and Collette had continued to check on him. At that time, he started to become unresponsive again. They called 911 again and same paramedic team came out. They took him to Dallas Regional in Mesquite, Texas where they drew labs and determined that he needed to go to Children's in Dallas, Texas. They have continued to run tests to determine the cause of the infection. The infection has spread throughout his body causing his body to go into septic shock. He is currently on a ventilator and not breathing on his own. He is responding to some stimuli, which is a good sign that he may not have suffered any brain damage. Please pray for his blood pressure to come back up and stay steady, for the anitbiotics to get rid of the infection, and for there to be no brain damage or damage to any of his other organs. Not only is this a huge emotional and physical battle, it is a financial burden that includes multiple ambulance rides, two different hospital visits, labs, tests, and time in ICU. Prayers and encouragement are always welcome, however if you're led to give finacially, that would be great. The Petty Family would be grateful for any amount you are led to give.
If you are local, we have set up a meal train account to provide meals for The Petty Family. Here is the link:

As we recieve updates on Benjamin's condition, I will post them here.
Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement.
