Michael's Brain Surgery
Donation protected
Several months ago, while at a check-up related to his diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, an MRI revealed the presence of an acoustic neuroma tumor on the right side of Michael's brain. This type of tumor develops on the nerve that connects the ear to the brain. While typically benign, as the tumor grows, it presses against hearing and balance nerves. Michael's tumor has already caused permanent hearing loss in his right ear. Left unchecked, this type of tumor's growth cause paralysis of the face or can even become life threatening.
Michael and Chelsea will be traveling to the House Clinic in Los Angeles at the end of this month in order for Michael to have an operation to have the tumor removed.
As the procedure requires them to be there for several weeks as Michael recovers, they could use a little help with travel expenses.
Michael and Chelsea are two of the most selfless, hard-working people I know.
They are also reluctant to accept help from others, though after much nagging, finally agreed to let me set up this campaign.
Your donation will help to cover the costs of airfare, lodging, and groceries during Michael's stay in L.A. from July 25th-August 14th.
Truly, every little bit helps.
If you don't have any spare change, we know that Michael will need and appreciate visitors over the next few months as he recovers. A donation of your time is equally appreciated.
Also feel free to leave well-wishes or even a little "tumor humor". As Michael recently told me, "I've lost my sense of hearing....not my sense of humor."
