Hi friends and family, I am Courtney Arsenault. Talon (my husband) and I are starting this go fund me for a really special family. I have known Farrah since college when we worked at a summer camp together at Callaway Gardens. We had kept up through the years and I even attended her and Teddy's wedding in 2012. When our Mavis started having seizures in 2018, Farrah was so quick to reach out and take my hand to show me that we wouldn't walk through this alone. Farrah has always been there as a wonderful role model of an advocating mother, a fiercely devoted friend and just the best support me and our family could have asked for.
How did Farrah come to be all of these thing? Well, she is the mother to our precious friend Everly. Everly started having health issues at a young age, including epilepsy. I will be the first to tell you that I cannot even name every diagnosis this sweet baby has, but after years of battling multiple forms of epilepsy and other health issues, they finally got a diagnosis of leukodystrophy. Leukodystrophy in short causes destruction to the white matter of the brain and can cause far more than a handful of symptoms. As Everly has gotten older, her seizures have been harder to control and are having a more negative impact on her quality of life. They have been traveling to Philadelphia regularly now to be treated by the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which is a leading treatment center for this disease. Since her multiple medications and VNS implant aren't being wholly effective, they have decided to try the Keto diet for seizure control.
This is where we need your help. Farrah and Everly will be going to Philadelphia for 7 weeks starting in May. Everly will spend a week of that time inpatient and the rest of the time will be with various appointments with her treatment team. This will obviously put Farrah out of work for quite some time, not to mention the cost of travel and other expenses. I ask for you to donate and help my sweet friends out. If you cannot donate, please pray for Everly, Farrah, and Teddy. Also, please share this with even if you cant donate or don't pray.
Talon and I both know how much a blessing this can be. We still cannot put into words how much everyone's love and generosity meant for us. We want to do the same for the Welsh's.
