You may have seen her on the streets of Boone – the big hippie van with all the stickers. Her name was Miss Lucille, and she was a local landmark.

For her driver, Kiyonah Thundersong, Miss Lucille was so much more than a van. She was a partner. After years of struggle, Kiyonah had finally figured out how to be financially stable by becoming a delivery driver. In Miss Lucille, she found not just a job, but a calling.

She absolutely loved delivering food and packages for our community, being a friendly face and a light in someone's day. That work, and that van, was her refuge, her stability, and her joy.

On July 15th, Miss Lucille was destroyed in a fire.

Since that day, Kiyonah has been unable to work. The stability she fought so hard to build is gone. She is now completely broke and on the edge of survival.

This is an emergency. This is a call for community solidarity and mutual aid to help our neighbor get back on her feet, and get back to the work she loves.

We need to help Kiyonah find a new partner to continue her journey.

How You Can Directly Help:

DONATE TO THE FUND:

The goal is to raise enough money to secure a reliable used vehicle, cover insurance and registration, and provide a small buffer for immediate living expenses. Every dollar helps to restore Kiyonah's ability to work, live, and serve her community.

DO YOU HAVE A VEHICLE TO DONATE?

This would be a life-changing act of solidarity. If you have a reliable, mechanically-sound car, van, or SUV to donate, please contact us.

SHARE THIS CAMPAIGN:

This is a powerful and free way to help. Please share this on your social media and in local groups. The more people who read Kiyonah's story, the faster we can get her back on the road.

Let's help Kiyonah continue being a light in our community. Thank you.
