Kiya & Marcus-House Fire

Hello friends, family, and community! My name is Hayley, I am the center director at the childcare center that Kiya has worked at for the past 4 years. I started at this center late December of last year, since then I have had the privilege of getting to know Kiya! She is a rockstar that keeps me going on even the craziest days! She is my go-to girl, always willing to help me out, and gives to her staff, kiddos, & families so generously! We are the luckiest to have her as our ‘older infant’ better known as RED ROBINS, lead teacher! Kiya arrived at work Friday morning (12Aug22) ready to end another awesome week with “her babies.” Unfortunately, 30 min into her day she got the call that would change her life, forever. “Kiya! The house is on fire!” She and her fiancé Marcus had just moved into the house a few months prior. This was the house they would be in as they get married & start their own family. They had begun their little family with two kittens, and a new puppy, Ruger. Marcus was at work for 4min before he got the call. In those short few minutes, they lost the entire house… including their three fur-babies.

On behalf of her ICCC family, we would like to help Kiya & Marcus get back on their feet. They not only were saving to get married next year, but now are left with only the clothes they were wearing that day.

Grand Forks & the surrounding communities are incredible. I have no doubt that with the help of sharing this GoFundMe, and other free-will events we have planned, that those who know, and those who are strangers, will shower this young couple with so much love & support!

Most importantly please lift these two up in prayers! They not only lost all possessions, but also their sweet fur babies! Please pray for healing & abundance of grace & faith as they learn to move through, and forward from this tragedy. Thank you all!
