Aloha everybody, My name is Kaipo Sarkissian and I am the first Native Hawaiian to be invited to the International Rugby Academy New Zealand . Being Hawaiian-Armenian, and being born and raised in the islands I am so honored to have a chance to pursue rugby and also get a chance to play a season with the Wellington club.
My goals for the Rugby academy and the rugby season are to develop the best possible me physically and mentally, and also have a chance to play for the US eagles National team. I know I’m going as an ambassador of Hawaii’s Rugby, and that I’ll return as a stronger player, able to offer my skills on and off the field to Hawaii’s teams and the next generation of our players and youth. Rugby has a proud heritage in the World, and it feels great, but humbling, to be handed this legacy.
