Kiwi and Camila Need Your Support

Donation protected

Hello my name is Camila and I am raising funds for my dog Kiwi. Anyone who knows me, knows Kiwi. Kiwi is a 4 year old golden retriever and underwent emergency surgery a month ago. All money raised will go directly to cover his medical expenses.

On Saturday, January 11th Kiwi began to feel ill. Kiwi was throwing up all day a bright yellow and would refuse food and water. Sunday, January 12th Kiwi was seen at Banfield hospital at 11:00am and underwent examination. Due to the lack of supply and inadequate redirection from the hospital to accommodate to Kiwis needs, he did not receive the crucial examination that was required to diagnose his surgery, a radiology exam. Kiwi was released by 2:30pm the same day. He was given medication before being released to prevent further vomiting and my mom and I were told if he were to vomit in the next 24hrs, the next step would be visiting emergency. 11:00pm Sunday Kiwi continued to show discomfort, by 1:00am he had shortness of breath and began to act irrationally by 2:00am we were at the Doral Centre Animal Hospital. Kiwi entered the hospital in level 3 emergency. After further examination was done we were told he would need to go into surgery. At 5:00am Kiwi went into surgery to remove a foreign object and remained at the hospital until Wednesday 15th. Kiwi had a check up on Sunday 19th, we were concerned about his blood levels since at the time of his release the albumin levels were very low. Not having enough albumin, fluid can leak out of your blood and build up in your lungs, abdomen, or other parts of your body. So, the possibility of Kiwi needing a blood transfusion was high. Luckily his blood levels were stable he has been progressing well.

Kiwi has been my emotional support dog and has been present for many milestones in my life. Being able to support him physically and financially has been difficult since there is a single income supporting the household, including all the medical expenses for Kiwi.

Any help would mean a lot to me and my family. By sharing or donating, you are helping reach Kiwis goal.
